Advantages: Nice Thriller, Performance by Mark Wahlberg and Direction

Disadvantages: Strong Violence

Shooter is an action thriller movie released in year 2007. Movie is an adaptation of the novel Point of Impact by Stephen Hunter. The film was directed by Antoine Fuqua and the screenplay was written by Jonathan Lemkin. This is a story of a scout sniper who is enclosed for murder by scoundrel of CIA Unit.

Cast and Crew:
Mark Wahlberg portrays Bob Lee Swagger, a retired marine scout sniper. Danny Glover plays a role of Colonel Isaac Johnson.
Michael Pena portrays Nick Memphis, an FBI agent,
Lane Garrison plays a role of Donnie Fenn, a close friend of Swagger.
Kate Mara portrays Sarah Fenn, wife of Donnie Fenn.

Bob Lee Swagger is one of the best marine scout snipers. Colonel Johnson orders bob to track down the president because some assassins are looking forward to kill president. Johnson gives him the location address where president is supposed to visit. Swagger determines some sites and felt that Philadelphia site is the site from where assassins can attempt. Swaggers tell all this to Johnson and ask him to arrange some officers. He is shot by some officer, steals the car of Memphis and escapes. Officer tells that Swagger is the shooter. Swagger lives in Sarah home as refuge. Sarah's husband Donnie was a close friend of Swagger and was killed in a mission in Africa. Swagger tells her to contact Memphis to solve the conspiracy. Here FBI agents are blaming Memphis for Swagger's escape. Rouge agents kidnaps Memphis and try to kill him. Swagger kills his capturers and save his life. Now both are against rouge agents. They arrange a meeting with firearms expert in Athens. They capture the real assassin. He tells that bishop is the target of the assassins and commits suicide. Swagger learns that the mission provided to him in Africa where Donnie was killed was a part of racial extermination. Swagger starts inquiry and records confession of ex-snipers as a proof. Here rough agents kidnap Sarah knowing that Swagger was here with her. They made a strategy to escape Sarah. They kill many snipers and able to rescue Sarah. After that they surrender to the FBI. Now what happens next? Who is behind this conspiracy? Who is taking advantage of legal loop hole? Who are those assassins? To know all the answers watch "Shooter".

I watch this movie a week ago. Actually after watching "Enemy at the Gates" I am curious to watch movie based on snipers with motto of one shot, one kill and my friend suggests me this movie. Shooter is an action flick with full of thrills and surprises. The storyline is very interesting and plot makes sense. In first half you will see some action but in the second half they concentrated more on government conspiracies and betrayal. In the whole movie there are twists after twists.

Fuqua is known for directing action movies. Whether you see Training Day or Tears of Sun. Direction is not different from these movies and influences creep their way in this movie. The performance by Mark Wahlberg is carrier killing. He really brings a character of Swagger to you. The acting of supporting star cast is also worth watching. Whether you take Pena or Glover, all did a wonderful job. Movie delivers hardcore action and violence. The chase sequences and assassin's shots are filmed very well. Sometimes it's hard to believe that someone could kill from a mile away but these scenes are presented in a way that they really make a hit home. So if you want a thrilling ride than you should give it a try and I am sure it will not disappoint you.
