Well I'm done with another season of the Simpson's and this time around its Season 2, and even though the animation is still a little rough round the edges, you can see it starting to form and take shape with the characters the way we know it nowadays, as season 2 progresses you can also see the shows creators starting to get away from Bart being the main focus and starting to push Homer to the forefront. Like the first season of The Simpsons, the second season has the same noticeable signs of its age, as this was originally aired in 1990. However, the slightly dodgey animations and voices are barely even noticeable after you've watched a handful of episodes. You'll notice that Matt Groening starts to put more focus on Homer in particular, much to the fans' delight. I actually found this season much more enjoyable than the first mainly because of the characters; both new ones that are introduced and the centre ones that are developed throughout. The Simpsons season 2 started in 1990, and includes many classic episodes. The animation is still a bit crude, and some characters have different voices (I remember seeing Ralph Wiggum with Nelson Muntz's voice, but I don't know if that was this season or the first) but there was great potential shown in this season that maybe the show could be something special. By season two, the little issues with the show are ironed out, and everything is plain sailing in the comedy ocean. Yes, the Simpsons series 2 is an excellent DVD collection. For those who don't know, the Simpsons is an American animation that follows a whacky family made up of Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, Simpson and Maggie. There are 22 episodes included on four DVDs in the season two box set of the Simpsons which makes it much better value than season one. The RRP is £39.99 but you can get this from several places for under £20 including HMV.com. The first ever Halloween special appears in this season and is simply called "Treehouse of Horror" because it was the first. There are three short horror stories staring the Simpson family (and a few other characters from the show) crammed into what would normally be on television a single episode.
