Acting superstars Brad Pitt, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michelle Pfieffer and Joseph Fiennes lend their voices to DreamWorks (the makers of Shrek) for the swashbuckling animated adventure, Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas
It seems this is out to buy or rent on 17th November 2003 - VHS (RRP £14.99) and feature-packed DVD (RRP £19.99)
Sinbad (voiced by Brad Pitt) is the story of the most daring and notorious rogue ever to sail the seven seas. "I like to call him, Sin-Brad". Brad Pitt goes on to describe his character, Sinbad. "He's a bit of a rogue. He lives a life of adventure on the high seas. He finds a little treasure, fights a few monsters'and he likes the girls."
Framed for stealing one of the world's most priceless and powerful treasures - the Book of Peace - Sinbad has one chance to find and return the precious book, or his childhood friend Proteus (voiced by Joseph Fiennes) will die. Sinbad decides not to take that chance and instead sets a course for the fun and sun of the Fiji Islands.
But Sinbad?s best laid plans are ruined when Proteus' beautiful betrothed, Marina (voiced by Catherine Zeta-Jones), stows away on Sinbad's ship, determined to make sure that he fulfils his mission and saves Proteus' life.
Now the man who put the 'bad' in Sinbad is about to find out how bad 'bad' can be. Eris (voiced by Michelle Pfeiffer) is the evil goddess of chaos, and she lives up to her name by dispatching both monstrous creatures and the world's elements to do battle with Sinbad along the way, testing him to the limits as he reluctantly embarks upon his quest.
A movie of pure entertainment that can be enjoyed by the whole family, Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas is the most swashbuckling, adventure-filled kids' film of the year, and the DVD is packed with a host of exciting and interactive extras.
The Sinbad DVD includes Cyclops Island, an
interactive six-minute adventure featuring the voices of Brad
Pitt and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Viewers will be allowed to manipulate one of five characters, continuing on from where the movie ends.
The DVD also features three set-top games, printable masks, colouring pages, favourite scene selections, DVD-Rom games, character biographies and a featurette on the voice of Spike.
The directors, Patrick Gilmore and Tim Johnson provide commentary with other filmmakers, and the DVD also includes a making-of featurette, production notes, and cast and crew biographies.
