I had wanted to see Sleepless in Seattle for ages, it seems like one of them classic chick flicks that everyone really loves like Pretty Woman and When Harry Met Sally. I really love chick flicks but some of them these days are getting far too predictable so I wanted to go vintage, hoping that it would be a bit better than what it is these days!

The premises was quite nice, no doubt it'll be repeated in some film again soon! A widower's son rings into a radio station chat show worried about his Dad, saying that he wants a new wife. Annie is on the other side of the country, and can't help but be enchanted by 'Sleepless in Seattle' and his chat on the radio, she feels as if she's in love with someone she's never even met. Yet there's a problem, she's engaged and she's never met Sam. Will fate intervene and will they ever meet?

I instantly got a good impression of it because of the two leads who I thought worked really well together despite not actually having that much screen time together, it was mainly them separate with their own lives trying to get to each other. Meg Ryan has to be one of my favourite actresses after watching When Harry Met Sally which I think was also made around this time, and this film just established this fact; after watching the film I decided that I'll need to buy a lot more of her films! The two leads are also in another film You've Got Mail. In addition to the leads being really good though, the young boy, Ross Malinger, playing Tom Hanks son was also excellent and was the real star of the film - I was surprised when I looked him up and he's not acting anymore!

Overall I really enjoyed this film, and I have to say that I think I need to be buying a lot more older chick flicks because they seem a lot better! It is also seemed not such a typical storyline, starting with a death.
