Snatch is director Guy Ritchie's sophomore effort after "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels". He claims he thought of the title for his second movie as a direct reaction to the first. People kept telling him his first title was too much of a mouthful, on top of being hard to remember. The clever Brit then came up with the incredibly concise title, "Snatch", possibly the most concise sounding word in the English language.

"Snatch" stars Brad Pitt, Benicio Del Toro, Dennis Farina, and a few from Ritchie's earlier effort, Jason Statham and Vinnie Jones.

The plot begins with a diamond heist, shown with all the in your face action of a bank robbery. (trust me, I've been in one) The plot doesn't directly continue along this line though, as several different characters paths get mixed up along the plot line. Essentially, most of the movie is a narration from one of the main characters, a fellow named "Turkish" (Statham). Turkish gets mixed up in fixing underground boxing matches with some rather bad chaps. His prize fighter gets whomped by Pitt's character, a Gypsy Boxing champ, (Pitt is hilarious as an incomprehensible Gypsy by the way) and so he hires Pitt to do the fight in his place. One by one the various characters enter, each bringing a sort of dark humor with him. The plot takes a few well warranted twists before finally ending in a "whoa what just fell in my lap?!" kind of way. I won't say much more about it to prevent my self from giving too much away. The film should definitely not leave you feeling ripped off though, as it plenty of original lines and camera angles which should keep the viewer entertained.

I highly recommend this movie. The filming is well done, and keeps your attention. I am definitely a Guy Ritchie fan after this one.

A reasonably well written opinion. But the title is crap.
