Socha Na tha was released in 2005, this movie is romantic comedy movie. This movie was made by Dharmendra, earlier he had launced His sons Sunny & Bobby Deol and this time he launches his Nephew Abhay Deol.

Plot :

Well Viren is a son of wealthy business man Suresh Oberai, he is a guy who dont know what he wants to do in life, he is confuse.
He is in love with one of his friend Karen, but has not yet expressed to her. Viren does not want to do arrange marriage, as he is in love with Karen. Viren is Hindu and Karen is Catholic.

Viren shares a nice friendly relationship with her sister-in-law Ayesha Jhulka. Viren's family wants him to marry Aditi, whom they think would be perfect for him. Aditi's parent are not alive and is been look after by her Uncle, altough being beautifull & intelligent she was rejected many times before, and seeing this she was not considering meeting with Abhay to be great, as she thought he would also reject her.

But when they are made to meet, Viren tell her about the Karen, Aditi understand Viren problem, and tells him that she will say no to this one as viren can not say no as he dont have the guts to say know to his family, but Aditi says she can not say No due to earlier problems and its Viren who has to tell no, so viren says ok.. So now they become friends and hug each other, this is seen by some family member and they think that they are ready.

But when they go back Viren tell his family he didnt like her, and when this news go to Aditi's family they are suprised and angry. and this creates a feud between the two families but Viren & Aditi are friends.

Now Viren tell Karen that he loves her and wants to marry her, she accepts viren proposal. Now they want to spend some quality time together, so they plan to go to Goa, but Karen cant make it with all thier friends as ahe has to go to Goa but with her Family. And she cant tell about this to her dad.

So here Aditi comes to rescue, as she is friends with Viren she decides to help him. She goes to Karen;s dad and tell him that she is getting married and she wants Karen to come, and the wedding is in Goa so she can join her family once her wedding is over in Goa. So now Aditi also need to be with them, so the same thing Karen tells at Aditi's place and she will be back to Mumbai after attending her wedding. So All of them go to Goa, had a good time there.

When Aditi;s back thier family see him with Viren and suprise by what they doin together, this makes them more Angry. and the war between to Families continue as to why is it happening, once they say no, and thier son Meets thier Daughter for what.

Meanwhile Karen agree's her dad for Viren, This scene is really good when Abhay meets Karen's dad. The way he speaks with him and the whole scene is really good and funny. But Viren's family does not want a catholic Girl as thier daugther in law and is in oppose of this relationship. But Viren tries to make his dad ready by taking help of Ayesha Jhulka.

Now as time passes by viren, starts feeling for Aditi, thinking that he didnt love Karen he loves Aditi. But by now His family was ready for Karen, so now he tries to speak with his family and trying to convince to go against Karen. But goes in vain, he tell Aditi about his feelings and she Declines it.

What hapens now is by watching out the movie?

Music :

Well the music is really nice given by Shailesh Shandalya. Its very soft & relaxing music, All the songs are quite good, but my two Fav are 'O Yaara Rab' & 'Abhi Abhi Mere Dil Mein' both romantic songs.

My Analysis.

Well before seeing this movie i didnt expect much, becuase this movie was not nicely promoted. But was suprise when i saw it, i just loved the concept & the movie so much that i have seen it quite a times. The title Socha Na Tha means 'Didnt Think of it', goes very well with the movie, because what ever comes everytime its not expected.

Abhay deol as a new comer has done a very good Job, yes and also expected from him as he is coming from the great Deol family, who has always deliver and all of them are big stars in Bollywood. He has done the character of a confuse young guy to perfection, you will smile at most of the scene's in the movie.

Ayesha Takia, this is her third movie and she is getting better and better, she has played the simple girl character very well. She is looking very cute in this movie.

Rest all the characters have done justice to thier part in the movie.

Imtiaz Ali the director get full marks from me, he has done a good job, also the dialogue written by him are really very good, and the climax was also well shot of this movie. He is brilliant director and this has been proved by his latest Blockbuster Jab We Met. And he is young now and will get better and better as the time goes by.

All and all a movie which you can enjoy with your Family, i enjoy it every time i watch it. Although some didnt like it, but it depends upon people to people.
