Space Chimps is a highly amusing animated movie from Vanguard in collaboration with Fox. It was released in July 2008, and although it has remained a relatively quiet animated movie with the release of Wall-E and Kung Fu Panda, it is actually very funny, and just as good as the other two films in many ways. I would imagine that, were the companies releasing these films the other way round, Space Chimps would actually have been more popular, or at least more watched, than either of the other two films. The premise itself is quite good, and the execution highly entertaining. The characterisation is brilliant, and the aliens well thought out and displayed to us. ... Read the complete review

Space Chimps is an animated adventure following Ham the 3rd. Ham's grandfather was a hero; before any human went into space Ham the 1st went up in a rocket. Ham III has always lived in his grandfather's shadow because of this, and in order to deal with this pressure he has taken to acting the fool, and is working as a circus chimp being fired out of a rocket every evening. So they decide that the only way to do that is to send chimps through first, but the cost of such a mission is a drain on resources. Therefore the ... Read the complete review

I am writing this review for the good of the general public. I am going to try and stop anyone wasting their money on this utter garbage. This movie was released around the same time as Walle and the difference is out of this world. I don`t know how this film has got 3 stars and my review is just about trying to let everyone know NOT to watch this! I watched this film yesterday because it was on Sky Anytime and thought it sounded Ok and it would have a few funny moments and I was sort of expecting it to be disappointing however I was disappointed! How could an animated movie with monkeys be so BAD! I don`t know what to say but that it was the ... Read the complete review

The hit ratio for animated films is generally rather high - although Pixar hold the monopoly on the genre these days, a few independent animation houses to manage to crank out the odd film, and generally, they are mostly good. Occasionally, though, you do get the odd dud, and Space Chimps, whilst well intended beyond belief, and a noble effort on a very, very low budget, is a woefully underbaked film that'll probably even leave your kids bored. The plot, which is by far the most inane part of the film (even for something aimed at children), involves a $3.7 billion NASA probe getting caught in an intergalactic wormhole. Of course, when this happens, what do you ... Read the complete review
