Advantages: Stunning visuals.

Disadvantages: Some comedy sequences aimed at children that get annoying.

The Wachowski brothers famous for the Matrix trilogy have created another screen gem in speedracer. A flashback to the popular 60's comic, Speedracer uses groundbreaking technology to give a live-action film a cartoon feel like it is bursting out of the comic onto the big screen. I watched this film in Blu-Ray and the shocking bright explosions looked even better than in the cinema. Ideal for kids and grown ups alike this feel is full of action sequences as well as car crashes and blistering speed.

I was originally told by a number of my friends not to watch this film as they did not like the way it was filmed but I thought it was brilliant and really stands out from anything offered in the past few years.

A predictable plot but engaging none the less, Speedracer couples every young boys two favourite things into one film. Fast cars and explosions!

Summary: A must see.
