This was the season where DS9 was able to stand on its own 2 feet and break away from The Next Generation. The story writing improved loads and the actors started to shine in their roles. Even characters that only appeared in a few episodes each season started to get stronger. Louise Fletcher returns this season and every episode she is in is great.
This season DS9 starts to get a little darker and the final episode The Jem'Hadar is a great season cliff-hanger that sets up a wonderful story arc. There are lighter moments throughout the season though. Mainly from Quark and Odo but also O'Brien and Bashir. You also have to look out for Andrew Robinson who plays Garek the Cardassian who really starts to shine in the role.
If you liked the first season then you will love this one. Great Sci-Fi writing plus great effects and acting.
Summary: Good enjoyable series
