Stardust is a 2007 fantasy film, directed by Matthew Vaughn, and is based on the novel of the same name by Neil Gaiman. It stars an aray of Hollywood's finest including; Michelle Pfeiffer, Clare Danes, Robert DeNiro, Sienna Miller and Peter O'Toole.
*Synopsis*
Tristan Thorn (played brilliantly by new comer Charlie Cox) promises to bring back a fallen star for his love, Victoria's (Sienna Miller) birthday in the hope that she will marry him in return. However when he finds the star he is shocked to discover that in fact the star is a person Yvaine (played by the equally brilliant Clare Danes) and she refuses to go with him back to Victoria. In the mean time, whilst trying to get Yvaine to accompany him back, Tristan must avoid the evil witch Lamia (Pfeiffer) and the deadly prince Septimus (Mark Strong) who also want to catch the fallen star but for their own gains.
*My Opinon*
Classed as the Modern day fairytale, Stardust was a film that had had many good reviews and was a film that i was eager to see. It certainly lived up to it's expectations and was definatley one of the films of 2007. New comer Charlie Cox played his part brilliantly and still shone in the star studded cast such as Pfeiffer, DeNiro and Danes. Brilliantly cameos from David Walliams, Ricky Gervias (who whilst not in the film for long, still managed to steal the show with his witty one liners) and outstanding performances all round from both the leads and the rest of the cast clearly make Stardust stand out as a fairytale classic.
