Advantages: New allies, new enemies new worlds.

Disadvantages: Few extras as usual with Stargate box sets.

Season 3 starts off with a satisfying conclusiong to season 2's happening rounding off the last episode nicely. Season 2 continues to follow the expoits of our favourite SG team and the antics of the Go'auld. The episode Seth on the firest disc stands out to me showing that these events really are important to Earth, and the things which happen out there really do matter down here.

Resolved in this season is the relationship and storyline surrounding Daniel Jackson and his wife Sha're. The introduction of Sokar and a literal "Hell" also introduces some new mythology ideas. These episodes also develop the relationship between the Tau'ri and the Tok'ra.

Also expanded this seaosn is the involvement with the Asgard. In Season 2 the general consensus of the Asgard seemed to be "don't call us, we'll call you". In Season 3, they come calling. A number of episodes feature the asgard, primarily Thor a fan favourite.

New to this season the Asgard's nemesis, the Replicators. These seemingly harmless robotic insects quickly become a menace later in the series that threaten the Earth itself.

Overall Seaosn 3 is a brialliant continuation of SG1 and well worth your hard earned cash.

Summary: Earth has never seemed smaller!!
