Advantages: Fantastically gripping plot

Disadvantages: Slightly unsatisfactory ending in my view

Just seen this film at the Cinema! A great story and a great cast to tell it. Russell Crowe gives a masterful performance as Cal McAffrey, a rugged journalist with a good reputation, but It's been a while since he's had a good scoop though and the editor, played with an excellent blend of honest humour by Helen Mirren, is getting impatient. But Cal keeps her hanging as more and more secrets are unvieled. Eventually Cal is left with a difficult choice - is he a journalist first or a friend first? Where does his duty lie?

I love good story and this is a good story well told, although I found the ending wrapped itself up a little too quickly and took a bit of thinking through to sort it out.

But all in all an one of the best films I've seen this year. There's great performances too from Ben Affleck (Senator Collins) and up and coming actress Rachel McAdams (If you've not seen Notebook I'd highly recommend!)

Summary: Really good - watch it!
