Advantages: It hasn't been released in the UK.

Disadvantages: Every aspect is annoying. A very disturbing child rape scene that is totally pointless.

States Evidence is a high school drama about a group of "teenagers" who decide to commit suicide together. Instead of a suicide note they video everything and produce a film where each character reveals their motivations and displeasure with their families and the world in general. Through these vignettes one of the characters is revealed as a psychopath by the films only shocking scene involving the rape of a child. This scene is particularly distasteful as it is also deliberately racist in a naive and completely contrived attempt to shock which is completely unnecessary.

One of the many major problems is that none of the characters are particularly likeable, in fact they are all plain obnoxious, the most endearing character is the child raping psycho. Things are further compounded as each one is a completely underdeveloped and clichéd stock character, the geeky but popular hero, the jock, the nerd, the virgin whose best friend is an abused slut.

States Evidence is the worst sort of film, exploitation attempting and failing badly to be a meaningful. Supposedly a serious examination of shootings in American schools, this is distasteful enough, but to do it in such a pretentious, crass, arrogant, smug, way is unforgivable.

Four out of the five of the main actors are in their twenties and look it (Kris Lemche was 28 when this was made) which along with the badly realised device of actors filming themselves totally destroys any sense of believability.

Acting is self conscious and over the top further highlighting the poor direction but it's not helped by childish and pretentious dialogue. The deathless prose never ceases with a endless monologues of verbal diarrhea instead of structure and story.

This all makes up for a truly annoying and boring film with a mawkish, insincere climax so amateurish that it made me laugh instead of cry.

Summary: Watch this if you want a child tell you how to live your life.
