What A Let down! (Street Fighter (DVD))

Disadvantages: Bad acting, inconsistent with the game

I recently joined Love Film and whilst putting together my list of films and games I wanted I saw Street Fighter and was intrigued, so I clicked on it. A few days later my first lot of dvds arrived and Street Fighter was included.

I realise this is an old film, so I didnt expect the special effects to be amazing, but I honestly did not expect the special effects ( and acting! ) to be so absolutly awful!

The story is quite inconsistent with what I can remember from my childhood when I used to play Street Fighter with my siblings and there are lots of characters from the game dotted throughout the film and I found it difficult to keep up with whos who and what they are doing, I think it would have been much better if they had concerntrated on a few people rather than trying to cram everyone in some way or another.

The plot is basic, Major Bison ( Raul Julia ) takes refugee hostages and demands a hefty ransom for their return. Colonel Guile ( Van Damm ) leads an army ( which include Kylie Minogue ) to reusue the hostages and defeat Bison.

Other Street Fighter characters are included along the way and it all gets quite silly really.

The acting is pretty awful and I keep cracking up when I think of the crazy eyes Bison has throughout the film - so commical!

Its a light easy to watch film, but if you are a Street Fighter fan you will easily pick up the mistakes.

The film runs for about an hour and half and Im afraid I could think of much better ways to spend that 90 minutes!

Summary: I will stick to the game in future.
