Advantages: Great fight scenes, Nice music, Crisp animation

Disadvantages: Abrupt ending to some fights, Dodgy translated script

In the not too distant future, crime is at an all time high. The main villains are Shadow Law, a crime syndicate run by the mysterious M Bison. He is on the lookout for the man responsible for the beating up of his "champion" Sagat.

The man is Ryu, a total hard nut who travels around the world by foot, travelling from east to west.
While trying to track Ryu down, M Bison discovers another character, very similar to Ryu in most aspects of fighting skill and strength. Of course, it's Ken, Ryu's old friend from their younger days training.

M Bison takes note of their history and decides to make Ken his new fighter by brain washing. Ken finds out that Ken is in trouble and heads for the USA, where the two meet in very unfriendly circumstances.

Elsewhere, a brainwashed MI5 agent, Cammy kills a governer and an investigation begins, headed up by Guile and Chun Li. This leads to an inevitable shower scene where Chun Li's animated breasts go on full show (oh what a suprise!). A spanish assassin named Vega breaks into her apartment and one of the best fights in the film begins!

Based on the Nintendo game of the same name, this film accomplishes some astonishing, and well choreographed, fight sequences and nice animation.
The film tries to incorporate everyone from the game, although some of the appearances are very brief (e.g. Cammy) they usually have some sort of impact on the story (e.g. Cammy).

We are also treated to a little history lesson with a couple of flashbacks to Ken and Ryu's training days. This adds a little touch to these two's relationship, showing us their past.

The score is not the japanese track, but rather an american rock track, featuring the likes of Korn, Silverchair and Alice in chains.
The story hangs well and plot development overlaps with the various characters situations.
It is true that the dubbed voices do sound American, despite most of the charact
ers not being of American nationality. The film obviously didn't have a huge budget, as many of the voice actors play more then one role.

Watch out for Blanka and Zangiefs battle, it's quite good.

I think this is a great animated movie, certainly much better then the live action movie !!
