Advantages: Fantastic use of animation, Excellent use of strong language and violence, Portrays the characters well

Disadvantages: Small roles of some characters, Quite an obvious ending

Street Fighter 2 the Animated Movie is jam packed full of action with lots of violence and swearing. The plot is very like the ones in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, capturing each characters personalities with precision.

In my opinion, I feel that this Street Fighter film is far more superior to the Street Fighter film starring Jean Claude Van Damme. Street Fighter 2 the Animated Movie is a must see movie!

This movie was made by Manga and shows excellent animation features such as the special effects shown by some characters special moves and fantastic sound effects.

The film is about an international crime organisation called Shadow Law, run by the dastardly M. Bison who has an interest for street fighters from around the world. His particular interest is a man called Ryu who has phenomenally high fighting potential. After analysing his fight with Sagat (one M. Bison’s street fighting henchman), M. Bison is obsessed with capturing Ryu in order to turn him into a Shadow Law soldier by using his Psycho Powers, thus making his organisation stronger contenders for ruling the world. Instead, M. Bison finds Ryu’s best friend Ken who had trained together in the same dojo.
Meanwhile, in America, the Airforce (as well as Guile) is teaming up with Interpole (and Chun Li) to try and end M. Bison’s illegal activities at selling drugs, weapons and abducting street fighters.

In this film, every character is shown from Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo. The only downside to this is that you only see a little bit of each character.

One small hint: there is a secret character in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo called Akuma who you can see just before the E. Honda and Dhalsim fight. He is sitting against the WALL, shown just before that match in India.
