I bought Superbad after watching other films by Judd Apatow, such as Knocked Up and The Forty Year Old Virgin, and enjoying them. I looked into some of the other films that he had been a part of and Superbad came up as one of them and after seeing it in Asda for about £3, I figured purchasing it could do no harm and I'm really glad I did add it to my movie collection!

Evan, played by Michael Cera, is one of the main characters within Superbad, being an awkward and quite nervous about anything dangerous/illegal teenager who ends up having to go along with his best friends on their quest to get girls. Seth played by Jonah Hill however, is the complete opposite of Evan and thinks nothing of reckless behaviour and will do anything if it means he might get a chance at attention off the opposite sex. Along for the events that occur in the movie is also Fogell, played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse, who is also looking for the attention of girls but just has a huge geeky persona. All of the main actors within this movie perform their characters with great skill and although sometimes what they're included in is is out there, always pull it off with their natural comedic talents.

The main plot of the story revolves around two best friends, Evan and Seth, who are desperate to get girls before they both leave for seperate colleges. They go out with their friend Fogell who has recently purchased a fake ID with the name McLovin (a thing the film is most commonly known for) to go buy alcohol to get invited to a party to impress the girls. This leads to Seth being hit by a car, which leads them to a series of adventures such as going to a house party where they know no one and befriending police officers while under the name McLovin.

The beginning of the movie is quite slow, and takes a while to get into. However, once you get to about half an hour in, it is pretty funny, with some great quotable lines and things happening to the main characters. Definitely take the time to get into this movie, as you won't regret it.

This movie reminds me a bit of American Pie, but without as much lewdness and ridiculousness that occured throughout that movie . Although I don't understand why everyone was obsessed with it when it was released, it is still hilarious throughout the whole thing! I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys weird and daft humour, as it is at a great price right now.
