Advantages: Jensen Ackles is definately a hugeeeeee advantage

Supernatural season 1 starts off with Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) persueing his brother Sam (Jared Padalecki) after their Dad goes missing during one of his 'hunts' The rest of this series follows the brothers on their search for their dad, and delves into the past on how the mother was mysteriously killed in a house fire, and how this starts off the life of a hunter for John Winchester which the two brothers end up following.

Sam starts off having 'dad' issues, and leaves behind his academic prospects to help find him alongside Dean. The rest of the episodes focus around the father/son/brother relationship as well as all the supernatural hunting action.

I have managed to get many people hooked on this series after lending them the box sets, not only is it gripping and exciting but there are some pure comedy genius lines mixed in. My faveourite episode is number 5, bloody mary. Definately reccomend

Summary: A great start to what is still a fantastic series
