Swimfan was released in 2002 by 20th Century Fox. It is described as a psychological thriller and runs for 85 minutes. It is considered to be Fatal Attraction for a younger audience. Ben is a very athletic high school student with a promising future in swimming. As well as having a sweet girlfriend called Amy, Ben spends a lot of his time training in order to impress a scout coming from Stanford University and hopes to be in the Olympics one day. Ben pretty much has his life planned...until the new girl at school, Madison, takes a shine to him. At first, Ben seems utterly devoted to Amy, who he has been with for a long time and doesn't really ... Read the complete review

I vaguely remember seeing a trailer for this film years ago (released September 2002) and thinking ‘oh that looks quite good, I’ll have to watch that one day’. Well ‘one day’ turned out to be yesterday after I borrowed the DVD from my friend and watching the film proved to me that I didn’t actually need to watch the entire 90 mins as the best bits were in the trailer anyway! Don’t get me wrong, this wasn’t a completely awful film (though I certainly wouldn’t watch it again) and it did have some mildly entertaining parts but put simply, this is a modern ‘fatal attraction’ for teenagers. The basic premise of the film is that Ben Cronin (Jesse ... Read the complete review

Have you ever wanted to see a film so bad, only to realise what a load of crap it was? Well that’s what happened to me with Swimfan. Let me explain. My friend Shannon and I have Monday afternoons free and have made a ritual of going to the cinema and then head to the bar next door for a drink and some lovely food ;) Anyway now that my best mate has found a new obsession with the gym we don’t go as often anymore. Well I told her we simply had to go and see Swimfan. From the trailer it looked like it would be a fast paced, thriller…well in reality it’s quite the opposite. Let’s just say we won’t be going to the cinema for a while now. ... Read the complete review

Swimfan is Fatal Attraction for the teenage audience. Fatally dull and as attractive as watching cleavage, tight butts and inane $10,000 smiles for 90 minutes can ever be. If you're like me and fail to see the attraction of teen thrillers then it's also not in the slightest bit entertaining but that comes from someone who didn't care much for Fatal Attraction in the first place and who hates the way Hollywood cannibalises old ideas and repackages them with clueless 20 somethings playing over-sexed college kids year in year out. If you generally like teen movies then it may be safe to ignore me, I'm just a miserable sod, otherwise, yes it's ... Read the complete review
