This movie showcases Aishwaria Rai in one of her early performances which helped her career flourish to the stage its at today whereby she has been offered numerous hollywood contracts. Her charachter - a young innocent & naive villiage girl, who is overcome by love and stardom, is portrayed to almsot perfection and she holds her own in every scene, even with veterans such as Anil Kapoor. Anil Kapoor equally impresses in his limited role and simply does what is expected of him to the best of his ability. Taal is a Bollywood film released in 1999 which starred Aishwarya Rai, Akshaye Khanna and Anil Kapoor with strong support from Alok Nath and Amrish Puri. Taal was produced and directed by Subhash Ghai and the music for the film was by A R Rahman. The film could be classed as a musical romantic drama.
