Tangled is the animated Disney alternative Rapunzel movie. The movie was a huge success at the box office when it was released in 2012 and for me has got to be one of the best Disney movies in recent years.

----------Plot----------
The pregnant queen is ill and all that can save her is a legendary plant that is in the hands of evil witch Gothel. Gothel hides the plant which enables you to stay young but it is found and made into medicine to cure the queen. Gothels desperate needs to be youthful leads her to steal the princess when she is born and raise her as her own. The princess then grows up calling Gothel mother and living in a tower (Rapunzel). I thought this was a really nice and good twist to the Rapunzel story because in nursery books and stories you never really know a full story behind why she ended up stuck in a castle so this movie made a lot more sense and was more in depth.
Every year on Rapunzels birthday lanterns are let out in the sky but what she doesn't realize is that the lanterns are for her because she is the lost princess. For her 18th birthday she ask Gothel if she can go see them but she refuses. When a strange man turns up at first Rapunzel is skeptical of him because of not seeing anyone other than Gothel for her whole life. After talking to him he persuades her to go and see the lanterns and says he will take her. This is were she sets of on a bumpy adventure that will change her life.
For me the plot was very different from any other animated Disney movie that I have ever watch because it brought something knew and it was definitely not what I was expecting from a movie of Rapunzel. The movie is unique and tells a whole new story that has never really been told like this.
The plot was carried by music just like most Disney animated movies. For Tangled I don't really think the music added much but it did act a mood setter throughout.
My favorite scene from the movie is when Flynn and Rapunzel are singing on a boat because it was a really sweet moment for the love birds.
positives about the plot are that it starts quite quickly and doesn't drag at any point in fact the whole movie is with good pace which is really good.

I think there is a wide range of characters in the movie Tangled. You have everything the good, the bad, the nice and the misunderstood which gives everyone a chance to have a different favorite character which is a good thing when it comes to movies. My favorite character has got to be Rapunzel she is really sweet and such an innocent girl it's really nice to watch how she grows throughout the movie.
The king and queen which are Rapunzels real parents were in the film only a little but I like them because of how normal their characters were. Usually when there are a king and queen in an animated film they are stuck up and snotty but in this they were more down to earth which was good and non stereotypical.
Flynn which is Rapunzels love interest I found to be the funny one and brought the laughs to the movie and was glad they put a character like that in the movie.

When first seeing it advertised I was baffled why they would call the movie Tangled rather than simply Rapunzel. I looked it up and apparently it was actually meant to be called Rapunzel but changed to Tangled to help market for males as well as female. I think they were right to do that and after watching the movie it is really for both genders so it is a good thing they did change the name. The title Tangled fits because throughout the movie she is getting tangled into problems and her hair is always the thing that lets her down or causes a problem.

I think this movie was great and I think it's definitely one for the family. I think that the movie is very entertaining and anyone will enjoy is so I would recommend it to anyone really. The movie is available to buy on Amazon new and used from 6.49 and I think it's worth every penny as it's a fun family movie.
