... kid's film about good vs evil. This film works as a kid's action film, and the plot is fast paced, inventive and high energy as it should be. The best thing about the film is the way the Turtles are so likable - they all have fun personalities, and this is indeed quite a funny film. Lovers of the cartoon and the like may well struggle with the costumes, which to me are the weakest part of the movie. I know this was 1990, but I could make better costumes myself! I suppose it had something to do with the need to allow...more

It seems odd to remember Ninja Turtle mania, but I was certainly part of it, and this film did a lot of cash at the box office from people just like me! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - The Movie, is about four humanoid turtles who live in the sewer. Trained in martial arts by a huge rat, they battle against the evil shredder. Deary me, that sounds like an acid trip gone wrong, but in reality this is a great kid's film about good vs evil. This movie is an absolute must see. I mean come on talking, walking, fighting turtles, it doesn't get any better than that. This movie was one of my favorites growing up. It is a super fun film that the whole family will enjoy. This is the first movie in a series of three movies that involves the teenage mutant ninja turtles, this movie gives you the background and origin of these advanced turtles. First off let me introduce these lovable characters: There's Michelangelo, the fun loving, silly, and immature one; Donatello, the smart and experimental turtle who likes to learn new things and uncover the unknown; Leonardo, the focused one who leads and organizes ...  Read the complete review

I've always loved the Turtles and I was long overdue to watch this movie again. I'm 23 now and I still use my Turtles mug all the time. Infact to be honest, I'm probably more of a Turtles fan now than I was then (sad I know). I didn't remember much from the film and seeing it again was great. It has dated a lot though, unlike other films from around the same time and the special effects are starting to look slightly less special. But I'm a forgiving sort and the flaws didn't really bother me. The whole idea of four turtles being transformed into turtle men and being trained by a rat man in the ways of Ninjitsu is utter bonkers and the whole thing is brilliant fun. The ...  Read the complete review
