Teeth (2007) is, not to beat about the bush, a film about a girl with a teethed vagina. How the hell can you make a story out of that? That's what I wondered but Teeth managed to make a pretty good story. Dawn O'Keefe is a teenager who works with an abstinence promoting group who go around schools trying to convince children of the advantages of virginity. Dawn meets a boy through this group called Tobey and Tobey though pretending to be all in favour of abstinence with Dawn isn't at all against straying from the rule. Dawn says no but Tobey attempts to rape her only to meet a rather horrible end. Dawn is understandably freaked out. She researches myths about ... Read the complete review

This is a review of the film only. Written and directed by Mitchell Lichenstein Teeth is described as a "comedy horror" that was released back in June 2008. ****Plot**** Despite being teased by not only their fellow class mates but the whole school at large friends Dawn O'Keefe (Jess Weixler), Kim (Vivienne Benesch), Ryan (Ashley Springer) and Tobey (Hale Appleman) stay true to their belief of chastity and overtly demonstrates this by wearing the symbolic red ring on their wedding fingers. Despite making regular lectures at the local chastity group raging hormones are beginning to kick in and the group faces a tough challenge as their ... Read the complete review

Teeth was a film that I had never been too bothered to see, as I thought it would just be a terrible, cheesy horror film, that was neither scary nor entertaining in any way. That was, of course, until one of my best friends told me that she had seen it, and thought that it was one of the funniest films that she had ever seen, and that this film was a perfect example of a film that is so bad, it's hilarious. So, when she rented the DVD for us and our flatmates to watch last night, I sat down to watch it expecting a hilarious attempt at a scary movie. I was not disappointed. The basic storyline of Teeth is that, for some reason, a 'normal' abstinent teenager ... Read the complete review

note: also appears in part on Flixster and The Student Room Teeth gained a lot of furore even before its release, with its concept of a woman having a tooth vagina that lashes out at the men around her. Also, with Roy Lichtenstein's son Mitchell directing, there was hope that this could be a film realised both thematically and artistically. Thus, it's not that Teeth is in any way a bad film, but it just doesn't deliver on every level that it possibly could have. Dawn O'Keefe (Jess Weixler) is a high school girl who is trying to remain abstintent, although increasing finds her urges overcoming her. One day, she goes to the caves with a boy to fool ... I have been awaiting the arrival of Teeth for almost a year now, I first got to hear about the movie in the summer of 2007 when while touring festivals from Sundance to Frighfest is received notable acclaim. Now at last the movie is getting select screenings across the world, and hopefully to a cinema near you soon. As young children Dawn and Brad are in a paddling pool, these step siblings are playing a game there parents cannot see, suddenly the tip of Brad's finger is cut off. Neither child ever being able to explain exactly what happened. Now as a young adult teen virgin Dawn (Jess Weixler) travels the land preaching to kids the value of waiting before ...
