This film is British, it's superb and will have you hooked, It really is quite an uplifting then terribly tragic story about Joe Meek's life and will give you a fantastic 2 hour rollercoaster ride of emotions. This film is currently on general release. A DVD will go on sale in September. Joe Meek is hardly the best-known figure in 60s pop. A successful producer in the few years before The Beatles, he had two or three hits that people would remember now, but didn't achieve lasting success. Left behind by fashion, troubled by mental health problems, and tormented by debt, Meek's story didn't have a happy ending. But he's had something of a cult following for years, and now there's a film of his life, or at least the important bits.
