Tenacious D: The Pick Of Destiny (DVD)

My other half has got quite into Tenacious D lately so we rented this DVD form Tesco Dvd Rentals, which was free as I've currently got a 14 day free trial with them. Who Are Tenacious D Tenacious D are a band made up of actor Jack Black and Kyle Gass (he's also an actor but from what I can gather has only really had bit parts) Story Jack Black plays himself or (JB as he refers to himself in the film). The pick of destiny is about when tenacious D form and become the best metal band in the world. They discover that all of the best bands in the world are using the same guitar pick, the pick of destiny. Through the film we see them searching for the pick and coming into trouble along the way. I love this film. You get a great soundtrack and the story is pretty damn cool too. Dave Grohl stars as the devil and we even see Dio as himself! It's a simple film that i would guess is aimed at teenagers and young adults. The acting is pretty good but the best bit is the jokes. The film is hilarious! It’s hard to write an unbiased review of something that you love. The chances are that no matter how poor the last book, film, album was you will still rate it higher than most people. It was with this sense of bias that I rented ‘Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny’ (PoD). I am a huge fan of their first album and listen to it regularly. It manages to combine great music with very funny jokes. The band had already had a failed TV show, but I was still hoping that their film would rock my socks off. Jack Black. Is there anything this guy can't do? Tenacious D in The Pick Of Destiny came out back in 2006. The film was directed by the brilliant Liam Lynch and of course stars Jack Black and Kyle Glass also known as the band Tenacious D.
