Advantages: Uma Thurman's brief appearance

Disadvantages: overlong

This movie has quite a bad reputation, with Terry Gilliam, the director, having gone to great excesses. I believe that at the time it was made (1988) this was the most expensive movie ever? It certainly went over its budget by a long way. The storyline involves the eponymous character telling tall tales, and we get to see these tales on the screen. Some of the actors are competent whilst others are blatantly incompetent, although it is nice to see Uma Thurman appear. Certainly a movie to watch once, but never repeat the experience!
