The Beach was quite an interesting film to watch although I thought that the end was pretty poor. The level of high, good quality acting was a definite to the end but the storyline just seemed to end quite abruptly. The plot was concluded but I think it was quite sharp. Saying that though I couldn't think of anything that could have really happened to make it any longer. Aside from the ending the film was fantastic! And completely what I WASN'T expecting which made me quite intrigued!

As most people know the main actor is Leonardo DiCaprio (Richard) Along side him is Robert Caryle and Virginie Ledoyen. Basically Richard is an American searching for something different. He travels to Bangcock, but when he reaches there he realises that's what the rest of Amercian people have done to find something different! The story really starts when he meets qute a strange man, played by Robert Caryle excellently, who hands him a map for this perfect beach! His quest then begins to reach the beach which he does achieve. He takes with him a French couple and manages to fall in love with the women before reaching the island. There are so many more wonderful twists but I will leave you to watch it yourself. O Yes did I mention that he also manages to flip quite badly towards the end of the film?!

I really liked the way that Leo spoke on top of his acting, say if he was just walking along or something. It really emphasized his feelings and attitudes to most things and was a really good insight into his character. The acting was a high quality all of the way through, especially by Leo and Robert and the storyline was gripping and original. I definitely recommend this film. The only other critisism I would give it, and every other film made is that the trailor only shows the best bit. I found it a lot more interesting then the way the it appeared from them. Don't watch it because you think there will be a lot of action because that's only part of t
he film.
