Advantages: Nice Scenary

Disadvantages: nothing like the book

I’m afraid that this movie attempts to glorify and rewrite a novel that really did not need to be rewritten. Leonardo was not in my opinion the right person for his part, he is too clean shaven and pretty boy, where as in the book his character on the island had full facial hair and long hair because they did not have the facilities on the island to shave or cut their hair. And in the book at no point does Richard come close to snogging any of the women, let alone Sal. The point in the film where Richard and Sal go to the Main Island does not happen at all in the book. There are also controversial points in the book especially at the end that are missing in the film. I felt that as I had read the book before watching the film, once I watched the film I was left disappointed and that the film never really got into the storey properly as you do in the book
