The Beautiful Country is a foreign drama brought to us by Norwegian director, Hans Peter Moland. Released in 2005 this film challenges our conception of beauty and ugliness. This very ambitious in-scope film which presents a multiple layer of patterns, detail and meaning shows us beauty and ugliness in the most unusual places. Binh's (Damien Nguyen) young life has certainly not been beautiful so far. He has no idea where his American G.I. father is or his native mother. They may even be dead.
