River dance
Well what can one say really...breath taken, amazing, outstanding and so on and so
This DVD offers you the full show with out the guy in fronts head in the way.
As a ''real'' Irish dancer I get a bit peeved when people refer us to river dance or lord of the dance as most of the steps are not strictly ''Irish dance steps'' but they are still dam well good.
This DVD has the two main stars of ''irish dancing'' Michael Flatley and Jean Butler.
Flatley born in 1958 is what they call over in the states an 'Irish tap dancer'
And is also well known for not just his dancing and world record braking feet but he also a writer ,plays the flute and a fine choreographer.
Butler is every thing an Irish dancer dreams to be, born in 1971 she began training as an irish dancer when she was 4 and she competed in regional, national and international championships. she is quite simply the crem della crem of Irish dancers across the world.
So on to the DVD it has two acts and then the finally, I wont go through ever scene as the other review on this subject dose that already.
The dvd its self runs for 114 minutes in total.
The story takes you on a journey of the 18 most all time best performances of river dance including other dances from around the world and also some of the most amazing Irish musicians.
My overall view of this DVD is it gets my feet tapping my head nodding and that what you hope to gain from this.
I also think even thought this is not ''real'' Irish dancing the dvd can and still does inspire people of all ages to take up Irish dancing , it's a great thing to be involved in (im 23) If you like what you see get your self jigging down to a class : )
Summary: great dvd
