Advantages: Great FX, Above average plot, Good music

Disadvantages: not a entry level film, typical Fulci ending, average acting

The Beyond has always had a past made up of either poor distribution or of banning. Luckily for us Grindhouse Releasing has put forward a new remastered release of one of the cornerstones of Italian Horror Cinema. The Beyond has everything you really need in a horror film. A superb start, some great set pieces, the otherworldly setting and of course an ending which will have you thinking.
Fulci doesn't and didn't get much better then this. For casual viewers this maybe not be the best place to start as it can get somewhat confusing but for those who are used to the plot devices normally used in Italian cinema (i.e stupid, implausible ways of moving onto the death of a character) then this is the one to go for.
Also stay away from the UK VIPCO release and try and get the US Grindhouse Release it is miles head.
Enjoy.

Some important information about avoiding the Vipco release there.

BTW, I don't think any of Fulci's films are accessible to the casual viewer - very much an acquired taste!
