Advantages: Good clean intelligent fun

Disadvantages: episodes aren't long enough

Right well what can I say about this show...LOVE IT!! Apart from the fact it's like episodes from my life...it's fan-flaming-tastic!! Ok so I'm not a smoking hot blonde and my friends aren't physicists but geeks they are!! Lol.

In brief the show is based on the lives of four friends Leonard the experimental physicist, his roomie Sheldon the theoretical physicist, Howard the geek-tastic sex machine and Rajesh who can't speak to women unless he's drunk! The series starts with Penny (a waitress at the local cheesecake factory and an aspiring actress) moving in across the hall from Leonard and Sheldon.

Penny is all about fashion, beauty and popularity so it almost seems rediculous that she would even talk to the geeks across the hall let alone hang around with them but somehow the writers have made this work. Leonard instantly falls in love with her and the series explores this relationship as it seems on numerous occasions that perhaps the fair Penny may possibly be falling in love with him also.

Jim Parsons who plays Sheldon Cooper is an absolute show stealer and even though this first season is mainly focused on the Leonard /Penny will they won't they thing...Sheldon does get a few starring episodes. As far as im concerned he makes this show what it is.

Kaley Cuoco is perfect as Penny bringing that Im so hot but oh so stoopid edge. She is utterly fantatsic and it's hard picturing anyone else in this role. For anyone who watched '8 simple rules' she's just a slightly mre grown up ever so slightly less shallow version of Bridget.

Johnny Galecki is perfect as Leonard the science geek who longs to be loved but there's something about him that seems a little bit less geeky than the others (and also kinda cute...oh maybe ive gone geek)!

On the whole I just think this show is genius. It doesn't have serious moments or moral messages in it at all it's just good old fashioned highley intelligent geekinfested stupidity (make of that what you will). I would recommend this to anyone who has ever played World of Warcraft, Magic the Gathering or Star Trek (the Leonard Nimoy napkin episode is a hoot).

Summary: 'Beauty and the Geek' but with a few extra hillarious charcters thrown in.
