This is a crime thriller that stars Dennis Quaid, Ellen Barkin and Don Goodman. The action is set in the home of Jazz New Orleans well before it was affected by the floods. In the film Dennis Quaid is a detective on the New Orleans Police force and is called out to a rather grusome murder of a known mafia hitman, a number of other killings follow and it soon becomes apparent that there is a drugs war going on between rival gangs in New Orleans. However at the same time Ellen Barkin has turned up, she works for internal affairs and it soon becomes obvious that police corruption is playing a part in the murders as well. Amazed that no one has written a review about this film as it is a great little thriller with some nice twists and you get to see Dennis Quaid bottom which rivals that of a young Mel Gibson. In the film Quaid plays a New Orleans detective called Remi, the force that he works on is riddled with corruption and nepotism, the police have a fund called the Widows and Orphans fund through which they distribute the kick backs and bribes they get from the local businesses.
