This film is odd. It reminds me of 'Strictly Ballroom' in that you don't quite feel comfortable with watching it because in a way , you are half-cringing at what the characters are going to do next.
Craig Ferguson gives a performance of a lifetime with his interesting rendition of 'California Dreaming' by the Mammas and the Papas. I had just taken a mouthful of vodka and orange and sprayed it everywhere because i was laughing so much.
I'm not sure if he convinces me as a camp hairdresser or not though, maybe that's because he looks as though he might start laughing any moment.
My own 'camp hairdresser' became quite upset when i brought up the subject of this film :-
"You just can't do that you know. You just can't stick some foil on someone's head and then squirt some stuff in and expect it to come out perfect like that! That film makes us look stupid, there's a lot of skill to hairdressing you know."
