Advantages: Robin Williams is great
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
Robin Williams is brilliant in this film, what a fantastic piece of casting. This film is from a French story called "La cage au Folles" (which, by the way is also brilliant). It is about a homosexual nightclub owner and his son. The son falls in love with the daughter of a big time pollitician. She decides that before they get married, she wants to meet his parents, so his father has to pretend to be a 'cultural attache to Greece' and his gay partner has to pretend to be his wife. Cue lots of gay jokes, emotions and fits of laughter. What a film. Robin Williams is brilliant in this role, and he works really well with his co-actors. It is as if they were all friends for years before they came together to make this film. The directing is also fantastic, with some very well shot scenes like the nightclub scene at the end. Because it is shot in a nightclub, the film is packed with really good old disco music which keeps the atmosphere of the film happy all the way through.
