1979 the year of this film, a little over 20 years but how the special effects have changed in that time.
When I look back and think how awe inspiring the special effects of such films were at the time I wonder how we will look on the special effects that are in the present day films (matrix etc).
All in all this film is a very light hearted film, it would rate a B type movie in my opinion.
Baddy, goodies, goodies win.
The effects are splattered throughout this film, but they in no way make up for what appears to me now to be a low budget and dated movie.
Only worth watching if you are either very bored or want to have a laugh at a film that was meant to be taken more seriously.

The plot centres around a spaceship (the goodies) that discovers a second spaceship (complete with mad scientist) that is sitting very close to a black hole.As they approach the craft they find it is sitting in an artificial gravity area created by the 2nd ship.
The second craft has many robots (one a red darth vadar type, also a few that need further looking at including one with a limp!!)on board, these are the creations of the mad scientist.
Anyway without going into depth and spoiling the errr plot (me thinks it is very predictable). The film has a few surprises, some special effects and a rather open ending, to say too much would spoil the film.
