Disadvantages: Nazis

Here at Radio Radio we just love the current crop of pop greats with a Rick Astley three play comin' right up after the traffic from the big chopper.Still a lot has to be said for the old masters of rhythm and blues with out whom Bros would be nothing but a madman's dreams. This film is an excellent showcase of blues talent and it's funny to boot, what a package as I was just saying to Linford Christie!.

The film opens with dawn breaking over a Chicago prison.A prisoner is marched from his cell to collect his possessions, for today is the day thet Jake 'Joliet' Blues is re-entering society - rehabilitationtastic!.After collecting his tatty possessions, including a used condom,he leaves the prison to be met by his brother and his ex-cop car 'Bluesmobile'.The two wearing matching black suits and sunglasses go to the orphanage where they grew up to see 'the penguin',the mother superior who raised the errant pair. They learn that a tax bill threatens to close the place before their foul language earns then a solid caning.

After a godly intervention at the gospel church they resolve to restart their defunct blues band so that they can raise cash to save the orphanage - charitisticlymungus!.After a great chase scene where several police cars and watches are smashed the lads set about re-recruiting their former bandmates.Things are pretty bumpy with some happier in their high paying gigs but soon after some bad behaviour the band is back together.

Unfortunatley gigs are hard to come by but after crashing 'Bob's Country Bunker' they get the chance to play 'The Palace Hotel Ballroom' but can they fill it and if so can they get the cash to city hall in time?.What do you think,Mr Toot - "toot toot".

This film is a total riot.Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi are never better in roles they brought from 'Saturday night live'.Although a flop at first the film soon attained cult sta
tus and is now an undisputed classic. The guys' quest is punctuated by great songs such as 'Rawhide' and 'Everybody needs some body' by them and 'Minnie the moocher' and 'Think' by Cab calloway and Aretha Franklin respectivley to name but two.The soundtrack albumn is an essential purchase with not a lame track in sight - undonovantastic!.

The film also has several classic comedy moments especially from the hapless Illinois Nazis lead by Henry Gison who has more than a passing adoration from his men.Not taking itself seriously the film allows ridiculous stunts to pass off without a mention still they are on 'a mission from God'!.They are also pursued by a mysterious lovely (Carrie Fisher),The Good Old Boys, and several irked cops including the orange whip lovin' John Candy - indemandarama!.

For stunts, action, music and swearing this film delivers on all fronts and should be looked up as soon as my show is done! What do you say Mr eatswithhismouthfull? "snothsrghthfthgss".

So posse what doo you think?...
