Advantages: music, comedy, legends
Disadvantages: none
This is a fantastic film...it combines musical genius with comedy. It tells the story of Jake and Elwood Blues and their struggle to reform their blues band. Along the way, people try and kill them and they get into all kinds of mischief. They have to raise money to keep their childhood orphanage open. Their on a mission from God and they do it in style. Eventually they ghet the members back together and the perform their gig. I won't give the end of the film away but it involves over $500,000 worth of damage and breaking about 96 highway code rules. I never really knew how talented Dan Akroyd was until I found out that he co-wrote it. It was such a shame that John Belushi passed away in 1983 because he was such a fantastic actor and singer. You can tell throughout the film that everyone in the film really loved what they were doing and I think this reflects in the film. The film contains some of the best loved ators around: Dan Akroyd, John Belushi, and the late John Candy...as well as some blues legends; James Brown, Aretha Franklin are just a couple amongst the fantastic. The film also contains some of the best music ever written and performed. Such titles include: Minnie the moocher, The peter gunn theme, she caught the katy, Everybody needs somebody, and shake ya tailfeathers! these are just a few songs which complete this hilarious comedy... this is great film and should be viewed by any conscious creature on the planet! Go see it now! Any comments would be appreciated! Thankyou and goodnight!

- 14/09/01 Nice op - what a wonderful film this is. Your format went a bit funny somehow which made it harder to read, but it's made me want to go and watch the film, which can't be bad. |
