The story of the rise of the forbidden pop music (The Boat That Rocked (DVD))
Member Name: marieelaine2002
Advantages: Social history, comedy, great soundtrack Disadvantages: none What a fantastic film! I loved it! The soundtrack is brilliant, with so many 60's classics. The story itself tells the audience about a time in social history when young people really started to 'rebel', forming their own opinions, shagging like mad and most importnantly listening to the music they wanted to hear! Pirate radio allowed children and teenagers to discover the wave of forbidden pop music that had begun to stir underground, an their collective voice drove away the restraints that the older generations of society had placed upon them. The boat that rocked urges you to support this Pirate radio movement and shows how fundamental it is when you consider that we are now free to listen to the music that we want to hear, not just what our parents wanted us to hear! Team this story with an all star cast, comedy and fantastic music and you have a winner! Summary: A brilliant film everyone should own |
