Very slow crime thriller starring the acting talents of Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. Starts well, featuring a creepy, disgusting death a la Seven, which I won't go into unless I spoil it for you. Later on it becomes irritatingly predictable, and not even Denzel himself can save it from becoming anything better than mediocre.

Jolie plays a young rookie cop who is edged into doing forensics work by Washington on the murder which soons emerges as a serial killer, psychopath, and general unpleasant person. Washington is old pro at the forensics game, who has been paralysed from the neck down in an accident at work. He is put in charge of eth investigation because he is so good at his job.

I wouldn't recommend it, even for fans of the genre.
