note: also appears in part on Flixster and The Student Room The Boondock Saints is a very divisive action thriller - it didn't fare too well with critics at all, but it was quite a hit on DVD, enough that it has a sequel due for release soon - Boondock Saints: All Saint's Day. The film revolves around Conner and Murphy MacManus (Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus), who are two Catholic Irish American fraternal twins. After they kill two members of the Russian mob in an act of self defense, they become badass vigilantes, believing that they were sent by God to clean Boston, Massachusetts of the evil and crime that pervades throughout the city. ... I've had this on my rental list with LoveFilm for a month and it was finally free a couple of days ago, due to being so popular. The movie is about Irish-American brothers Connor and Murphy who after get into a bar fight with three Russian mobsters decided to become vigilantes, taking down criminals who really should be locked up... or dead. This is basically the plot, but it does it get more complicated as it progresses, when their friend Rocco gets involved. After hearing so much about The Boondock Saints and finally getting it in the mail, I couldn't help but be a little disappointed. It's definitely a good movie... but it's not great. The whole ... This movie is beyond awesome. I absolutely loved it. It is probably one of my favorite movies out there. It is full of action and sends a very powerful message to the world. The actors in this film are also incredibly attractive which makes the movie all that more entertaining. This movie follows two Irish Catholic brothers living in Boston named Conner and Murphy MacManus, played by the incredibly attractive Sean Patrick Flannery and Norman Reedus who take it upon themselves to punish criminals and sinners who are either only breaking moral laws and cannot be arrested for those moral crimes or are living above the law. These two religious ... Read the complete review

Call me contrary, or whatever you like, but I tend to go against the grain at times, and my taste in films also follows this trend. I usually dislike most of the big blockbuster films, probably because they are so hyped, that by the time I see them, they just don't live up to what I was expecting.. I also think a lot has to do with how good the publicity agents are, and how gullible a lot of the public can be. I was going to say they are like sheep, but I often watch the sheep in the fields around my house, and believe me, sheep are not as daft as we are led to believe, but anyway, I digress, this is not an opinion on the Silence of the Lambs, so back to the issue in ... The Boondock Saints is a classic. That sounds like a strange thing to say about a film whose trivia page points out that it packs in 246 uses of the word f***, or versions thereof. But this is more than just guys and their guns Directed and written by Troy Duffy, this film follows twin brothers Connor and Murphy - played by Sean Patrick Flannery and Norman Reedus in what is probably their best roles to date - as they fall accidentally into cleaning up the scum of their city, taking on the roles of avenging angels to save a world dragged down by murderers and mafiosa. At the opening of the film, the Irish-American twins are living ... Read the complete review
