Advantages: Great gun slinging scenes
Disadvantages: The sequel still hasnt been made...
I though this movie was good.
It's a crime thriller starring William Dafoe, Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus and Davie Della Rocco. Two Irish-American brothers (Flanery and Reedus) turn into vigilantes after murdering Russian mafia members in self defence whilst trying to save a local pub. They claim that god believes they should kill all those who are involved in crime, so they carry out a series of hits on local criminals with their good friend Rocco. Somehow the brothers are amazingly gifted with the guns and manage to stump the local cops and the FBI's special agent for the case (Dafoe). Dafoe's character plays a gay (literally) genius agent who is always one step behind.
The brothers are also regarded as heroes in the local neighbourhood where no one snitches or talks to the cops, which makes it even more difficult to for Dafoe to solve the case. When Rocco convinces the brothers to carry out one major hit, they find themselves in the deep end and also confronted by a man with exceptional talent using the guns.
The movie is quite comical at times but also includes some good scenes where the brothers have their on style of execution. I also love the Irish accents! After I watched the movie the second time I realised it actually wasnt as good as I first thought it was. The plot is really good but it seems like there is something missing in the movie. Its not that the acting is bad or anything, I mean maybe Brad Pitt and Colin Ferrell could have done a better job as the Irish brothers. But I think there needed to be more scenes. Dafoe in the movie definitely good.
All in all worth a watch but dont expect too much.
Summary: Good movie
