Advantages: unique time travel tale

Disadvantages: none

"It has been said that something as small as the flutter of a butterfly's wings can ultimately cause a typhoon halfway around the world" :Chaos Theory.

"Change one thing, change everything" is the tagline for this wonderfully mindbending film starring Ashton Kutcher and Amy Smart.
Kutcher plays Evan Treborn, a man who, as a child, suffered serious blackouts. As a boy, Evans worried mum takes him to a Psycologist who suggests he should write a diary to help him cope with his condition and lower the impact of his blackouts. Years later as a college student, Evan realises that he can go back in time and change the past by reading his diaries. But this is by no means the way to a happy ending.
The more Evan tampers with the past, the more evident it becomes that not everything will have the outcome he so desparately wishes for. For not only is he changing his own past, he is also changing the past for his friends Kayliegh, (Amy Smart) Tommy (William Lee Scott) and Lenny (Elden Henson). Every time he goes back he quite literally changes one thing, but in effect, changes everything!

The storyline is unique among these kinds of films and the outcome of each visit to the past truly different in all aspects, with Evan gaining a whole new set of memories for each time he goes back and filling in the moments where he originally blacked out.

If time travel is your thing then you just have to watch this. I've watched it over and over and it's still just as good as the first time you see it. The idea behind it is like nothing else and really makes you think with the ending being second to none in terms of "i didn't see that coming".

Definitely one to watch, will bend your brain but it's worth the effort.

Summary: utterly brilliant
