Advantages: Extremly funny
Disadvantages: Can get a bit repetitive
This is one of the funniest sketch shows been released for a while now by the BBC. Most of the Characters are performed by the very talented Cathrine Tate.
The DVD contains all six episodes from Series One, and although the sketches are different, the characters do and say roughly the same things, just in different situations. This does get a little bit repetitive and annoying at times, but If you can live through that, you'll love this.
In my opinion, this show is much better than Little Britain (which I hated), so me thinks even if you love or hate LB, you'll love this. It's comedy everyone can laugh at and relate to, not just stereotypical comedy like LB.
~~~~~Characters~~~~~
The opinionated, manipulative Nan.
The Aga Saga Woman, who simply cannot cope with major disastors.. such as dropping an egg.
Paul & Sam the impossibly excited couple.
Bunty from the Doncaster Spinners.
Margaret who is even scared of her own shadow.
Ben & Karen the sleep starved new parents.
Lauren the "Am I bovvered?" chav.
~~~~~Special Features of the DVD~~~~~
A behind the scenes interview with Cathrene Tate, discussing how the characters came to be.

hogsflesh - 12/05/06 Sorry for the rating, but this didn't really tell me anything about the show or the DVD that I couldn't find anywhere else. |
