Advantages: great storyline and acting
Disadvantages: none
This film is brilliantly directed, acted and produced, but then what can you expect from a John Grisham adaptation. Two boys witness a suicide, where the older boy, has actually talked to the suicidee, minutes before he was killed himself. This suicide, being linked with Mafia, is hot news in America. But the boy has bigger problems to worry about! His brother, also witnessing this horifying attrocity, suffered psychological problems, and is in hospital. His single- mother, having then be fired from her job, is worried about her job and her son. Susan Saradon then makes an appearance, as the wise young witness, decides to get a lawyer, after realising what he had gotten himself into. Susan Sarandon, a lawyer and recovering alcoholic decides to be the young boy's attorney, for $1. Tommy Lee Jones, playing the District Attorney, realises he needs to sort this case, if he ever wanted to make a name for himself in American politics. Susan Sarandon and the boy, make a good team, with themselves getting caught up with the mishaps along the way, and finally solving the case. This film has a balnce between humour and great drama. This is what makes the film great to see again and again!
