I enjoyed this, but Hogfather is better (The Colour Of Magic (DVD))

After enjoying Hogfather, I wanted to see this one aswell - another of the Discworld adventures. Having never read the books, I had little knowledge of the Discworld or it's inhabitants. I like the zany style of them, where nonsensical things just happen and exist without explanation or reason. It's different, amusing and very entertaining. Several of the actors from Hogfather appeared here also, most obviously was David Jason, though all of which were playing different characters. I liked Sean Astin as the naive tourist, he was very amusing. If I'm honest, I preferred Hogfather - the character Death is a favourite of mine and he played a large part in that one. I also felt part 2 of this was a little too silly and pretty naff at times. Still, I did enjoy it and would recommend this to people who want something a bit different to watch - there is lots of weird imagination and fairly dark humour (all well within the 12 certificate though). That in mind, it certainly isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea.

Summary: I wouldn't recommend buying this - rent first. It's an aquired taste.
