I brought this DVD basically because it was cheap. I found it for £8 in a sale and thought it looked good.
And I was right. The film is set in Chinatown where Nick Chen (Chow Yun Fat) is a top cop. He fights crime in every way. But when a new officer, Danny Wallace (Mark Wahlberg) is brought in as Nicks partner the trouble begins. I will stop there as if I go much further I will ruin the rest of the film.
The acting is of a very high level and the directing is good. The action scenes are good if an under elaborate at times.
The DVD is average with a nice 16:9 widescreen video transfer and a good Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack. The added features are average with a "Making of", "Music Video" and the standard trailer.
Overall a nice surprise that came from a good bargain. The DVD is not ground breaking but the movie is good and there are some special features.
