What a wonderful film. Bejamin is born old and ditched by his greiving dad in an old folks home and there proceeds to grow backwards. Meeting Cate Blachette and a fabulous Tilda Swinton on the way. He eventually falls for and lives/marries Cate and has a daughter, but it is all downhill for him from there. I watched this with my husband who is notorius for falling asleep during long films and this is a long film although it does not seem like it. At the end his first comment was that is was a brilliannt film and I was amazed to find him still awake (he is a postman and we started watching at at about 10:00 pm). It is not a maudlin sacharin film, but lays the story out in a light and humerous way. There are times in the film where you cannot help but cry, especially at the end. I no point duirng the film did either of us say what a completely impossible concept. It is done in such a way that you just don't consider whether is is possible or not. Brad Pitt is brilliant in the role and it is great to see him just get better and better looking, until he suddenlly reacheds a point where he looks like he did in Thelma and Louise. Full marks to the make up artist. This is another one of those films that you must see and sure to be added to the top 100 of all time even in a year that seems to have had a remarkable number of top quality films released.
