Advantages: Good and tense
Disadvantages: Nothing
Five friends embark on a caving expedition with Juno in charge, promising she has the map for this particular cave with her. However she is reckless adn stupid and has led her friends to an unexplored cave with no map and as they climb deeper into the darkness a rock collapses, blocking their only exit.
The friends have limited water and supplies and desperately seek a way out, but as they start to lose patience with each other they encounter blood thirsty beings in the cave system with them and soon they start to lose much more than their patience.
I loved this film. I am a bit of a wuss when it comes to horror films and there are certainly quite a few bloody and gory scenes to get through, however it was still watchable for me. Maybe because I know such creatures don't exist, but I found it tense and just enough thrill to keep me glued.
I did however feel quite sick at the claustrophobic feel the film gave me. They are in a cave system and some of the tunnels etc they had to crawl through made me have to look away as my stomach churned.
I like the story line of the friends meeting up after a year of not seeing each other. Some new ones in the group and some old best friends and teh back story of Sarah, one of the girls, having lost her daughter and husband in a car crash the year earlier. This makes for some good memory flash backs but the majority of the film is good solid action and suspense and well recommended.
