NORMAN WISDOM.
****************
2 Films starring the wonderful and sometimes dopey, Norman Wisdom.
The Early Bird.
************
Norman is the gofer and assistant to Mr Grimsdale and between them they run a small milk round.
Then the big modern bullying firm (consolidated dairies) from around the corner decide that they want Normans 'patch'. Norman and his horse come under pressure and sabotage as the new milkman tries every trick in the book to ruin Norman's deliveries. This includes 'doping' the horse with drugged apples.
Normans screams "MR GRIMSDALE, THE HORSE IS DEAD MR GRIMSDALE" and bursts in on Mr Grimsdale who is in a funny and compromising position with their landlady.
But Norman fights back with all the mayhem and chaos which was a main stay of his movies. Including visiting the CEO on his golf course, wrecking the greens, dropping in on their head quarters and cracking the entire building etc...
Hysterically funny and arguably one of his funniest films.
Starring:
Norman Wisdom as Norman Pitkin
Edward Chapman as "MR GRIMSDALE!!!"
Runtime: 98 minutes.
Press for time
************
In this film Norman is torn from his dead end job of selling newspapers outside Westminster station by his Grandfather (who happens to be the Prime Minister!!).
He helps Norman to be a newest reporter at the seaside town of Tinmouth. What follows is his usual farcical madness and accident prone lunacy.
The beauty pageant has never been so un-beautiful by the time he has gotten involved.
In this film Norman has a love interest which he sings to, save us please that's a request not the name of the song.
Not as good as some of his other films but still watchable.
Runtime: 98 minutes
Special Features:
*************
"The Early Bird" features an audio commentary between Norman Wisdom and Robert Ross
English Subtitles.
Total run time: 196 Minutes.
Still as funny today.
Greg.
Summary: Norman at his best
